About Truth & Prosperity
Hey there, I’m Christopher Clay, author of Five Principles and the voice behind Truth & Prosperity. If you’re here, you’re probably wrestling with the big stuff: finding direction in a chaotic world, building relationships that last, or navigating money matters without losing your soul. I’ve been there, and through faith, family, and hard-won experience, I’ve found paths that work. Stick around, and I’ll share them with you: pragmatic, no-nonsense advice drawn from scripture, the Saints, and life’s real battles.
Rooted in Faith and Family
At my core, I’m a Christian who’s all in on Eastern Orthodoxy. My faith isn’t just Sunday mornings; it’s the compass for everything. I love my church family at St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, where the wisdom of the patristic fathers guides me daily. St. Nicholas himself, with his fierce generosity, reminds me that true wealth isn’t in bank accounts but in giving back. God has blessed me richly, starting with my incredible wife, Stephanie, a devoted Christian, mother, nurse, and healthcare leader who’s my rock through every storm.
Together, we’ve raised four amazing kids: Jonathon, a sharp business professional charting his own course; Justin, serving honorably in the Air Force; Elizabeth, a talented chef and artist bringing creativity to every table; and Evelyn, our youngest, whose boundless love lights up our home. And now, in this season of life, I’ve become a proud grandpa. Watching my grandchildren grow will sharpen my focus on legacy, passing down not just stories, but tools for resilient relationships and wise financial stewardship. Family isn’t perfect, but as Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go,” and it’ll pay dividends. Subscribing here means you’ll get the same guidance that strengthened my bonds and helped us weather tough times.
Professional Path: Building What Lasts
Professionally, I’ve spent decades as a healthcare chief financial officer, turning around organizations and creating jobs that make a difference. I thrive on building businesses, hiring great people, and driving healthy changes in communities. My skills in finance, planning, operations, management, accounting, and team building have led to real successes: like optimizing budgets to save struggling organizations and ensuring families get the care they need without breaking the bank.
I’m honored to be inducted into the West Virginia Executive Healthcare Hall of Fame in 2026, a nod to the impact of leading with integrity. Drawing from philosophers like Aristotle on prudent decision-making, I’ve learned that money isn’t about greed; it’s about stewardship. Whether it’s avoiding debt traps or investing in what matters, my insights come from the trenches. Subscribers gain access to these battle-tested strategies: helping you avoid common pitfalls, grow your wealth ethically, and align your career with your values.
What Fuels Me Beyond the Desk
When I’m not crunching numbers or writing, I’m diving into books that sharpen the mind: scripture, the church fathers, philosophy, psychology, business, finance, and solid fiction that reveals human truths. Outside, you’ll find me backpacking rugged trails, snowboarding fresh powder, or mountain biking to clear my head. Lately, dear friends are teaching me bow hunting and fly fishing: reminders that patience and skill pay off in life as much as in the wild.
For health, I swing kettlebells and hit the pavement running. These disciplines have helped me build resilience, much like the advice I share here. As St. Paul urges in 1 Corinthians 9:27, “I discipline my body and keep it under control,” a principle that applies to relationships, finances, and personal growth.
